About Hayatii

For me, jewellery is a way of holding close what matters most—the memories, milestones, and quiet moments we never want to lose.

I’m Hayat, the designer and goldsmith behind Hayatii Gold. My love of making began in childhood, with tiny beads and the simple pleasure of creating with my hands. At 22, I discovered goldsmithing, and something fell into place. I was captivated by the transformation of precious metals and gemstones into pieces that feel deeply personal—worn close to the skin, treasured over time, and passed on to someone you love.

My journey has taken me across the world. I studied traditional goldsmithing techniques in Malaysia, refined my craft in Toronto, and deepened my understanding of gemstones and diamonds through specialized studies in Carlsbad, California. Travel has also shaped the way I see and create. The colours of distant places, the lines of ancient architecture, cultural traditions, and the quiet beauty of everyday life continue to find their way into my work.

Today, I’m a resident goldsmith at Made You Look on Toronto’s Queen Street West, where I have the privilege of bringing these inspirations to life—and meeting the people who give each piece its meaning. I love hearing the stories behind a commission, helping someone choose a piece to mark a milestone, or creating something that feels as though it could belong to no one else.

Every Hayatii Gold piece is handcrafted with care and intention. Whether you discover it in one of my collections or create it with me, my hope is that it feels personal from the very beginning—something that reflects who you are, honours where you’ve been, or marks where you’re going.
